Serving at WellSpring Community Church

"Above all, maintain constant love for one another, for love covers a multitude of sins. Be hospitable to one another without complaining. Like good stewards of the manifold grace of God, serve for one another with whatever gift each of you have received."
-1 Peter 4: 8-10

Why Serve?
"Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins. Show hospitality to one another without grumbling. As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace."
                           - 1 Peter 4:8-10

At Wellspring Community, we acknowledge that everything we are, and everything we possess, is a gift from God. That is why our musicians, our ushers, our Children’s Ministry assistants — people serving in all areas — donate their talents and time. Sunday is not just a time of observation and experience, but of experiential participation. The greeter at the door, the toilet bowl scrubber, the pastor... all are used by God to speak into people’s lives, to be a living sermon. The Journey Group Leader , the one's serving refreshments, the administrative volunteer... all are hosts loving Jesus and serving our guests looking forward to seeing God's family grow.

In some churches, members can become observers, consuming spiritual goods and services as if the church were a product, standing by while an exhausted, burnt out staff does all the work in the church and the community around it. Wellspring is committed to creating a model that reflects God’s love for his children: an organic composition of hearts and hands living out the gospel with more than lip service. An organism is comprised of parts that have a function. If you desire to be a part of Wellspring, you must function.

If Wellspring is truly your church home, service will inevitably become a part of your life’s worship. Pray and consider where you might best serve your brothers and sisters in Christ. Church happens 24/7; lend your help and skills during the week, as well as on Sundays.
